Hello Dear =)

That's rather like asking if:

A Jew and a person from Yonkers is the same thing.........

Nazareth was a town. A pretty big town, as far as ancient Israeli towns go, but a town nonetheless. Christ was born in Bethlehem, Died in Jerusalem, but lived much of his life in Nazareth, a city in the ancient Israeli State of Gallilee, which was a province of Rome.

I hope that is helpful to you.

Namaste,

--Tom

The bible says Jesus was a Jew. Nazereth is a city. Jesus was from Nazereth so therefore he was a Nazerene. Yes, I guess they could be the same thing. If you are a Jew and come from Nazereth you would be both.

Nazareth is in what was called Judea during the time of the Roman Empire.
But just because one is from Nazareth doesn't mean you're Jewish. Today there are many Arabs there, mainly Palestinians.
Jesus was a Jew who was from Nazareth.

A Jew is a faith tradition.

A Nazareth is a city name.

Vastly different things.

Perhaps you mean Nazarene-a noun applied to a resident of the town of Nazareth like Jesus.
