in my last question. I meant to say that some Christians think they shouldn't masterbate because it doesn't lead to purity. I'm sorry.

I have already. I not being rude if it seems like

but some Christians think that it is healthy
to get that physical release. What do you think?

And the mistake was a grammar mistake, not a masterbating mistake. I
wanted your opinions.

first i want to qualify that i am SO guilty
Accordinding to Biblical teaching the body is the Temple of the Lord and sexual indescretion, sex outside of marriage, is a sin, therefore not only a sin against yourself but a sin against God.
being male with high libido it is difficult for me. The sexual act is for the marriage bed and only to be used for that purpose.
I didn't read your last question so i only answer from what i know of this question hope it helps and if you do don't beat yourself up too much.
the purity issue comes down to the fantasies you have when masterbating as well as the Temple. You take away or have certain expectations of your partner

Some things offend God. We are told to present a clean body to properly worship God.
Self abuse isn't being clean, but, there are times when exercise is merited. Parts of the body will decay with lack of use. Proper exercise at the proper time can only be determined by an individual. Exercise shouldn't be overdone, nor ignored. But should be carried on in a respectable manner and not for pleasure. Remember "All things should be done in moderation and to God's glory." Paul once said he had to command and lead his body about. Meaning that he sometimes had trouble understanding his needs. In other words, don't abuse, nor miss use! 'But' don't forget it either...........Still confused?

Check out these great books:

The Theology of the Body for Beginners - Christopher West
The Good News about Sex and Marriage - Christopher West
Real Love: Answers to Your Questions on Dating, Marriage and the Real Meaning of Sex - Mary Beth Bonacci

They will lead you to understand the true meaning of sex... once you realize that, you'll understand why masturbation doesn't fulfill the meaning of sex. Sex is meant to exist inside marriage and be a free, total, faithful, and fruitful gift of oneself.

All these books do not focus on "don't do this, and don't do that" They focus instead on the positive side of sex, and how awesome it is when properly understood and used as it was meant to be used.

It can be problematic for teenagers who are doing it to excess, but medical studies on older men show that it reduces Prostate swelling. For females on their monthly cycle, masturbating while in the shower, twice a day, reduces the length of time of the flow. I found that when my daughters first started and we went to the library to look it up. Their mother didn't talk about such things, and she called family services on me for answering their questions instead of just telling them to ask the school nurse.

Everyone masturbates. EVERYONE. YOU DO. I DO. Everyone who answered this question and calls it horrible does. Guess what, kid? GOD hates a hypocrite. The hypocrites that say they dont and call it evil are not in God's favor. YOU are. You are honest about it.

Your Spirit is strong kid, but your flesh is weak. Just like everyone else's. Dont sweat it. You love GOD. You believed Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sins. And you are obviously trying to do the right thing. But this one, ya just cant win...Its OK...God is not going to send you to hell for it.

Hey, you want to stand up and be counted, fight a battle for GOD that you can win? Say no to DRUGS..ALCOHOL..Getting mad and saying horrible things to your parents..Follow The TEN Commandments...Do what you can do, and dont worry about what you cant.

Christians are not perfect, just forgiven.

Good luck.

Masturbation in my opinion is making provisions for the flesh, and giving in to lustful temptation, I'm not sure where in the Bible this subject is discussed, so I won't pretend I know everything. I will call my pastor and ask him if it is in the Bible... I will e-mail you with an answer.

I think masturbation is a healthy release. There are only some Christian fanatics who think masturbation is evil, don't lump us all together.

Alicia
There is nothing in the bible about masturbation. It is ridiculous to expect teenagers not give in to their desires, would you prefer they go out and have sex? Christ isn't condemning masturbation but fanatics are.

Basically, you are partially correct. What proceeds from this activity may be other more harmful behaviors based on the lack of respect for the sexual facilities of mankind.

You shouldn't do it because it leads to misery. Just like a drug, you can become burned out on it.
