It is my personal comprehension that the universe is MOSTLY made of Hydrogen and Stupidity.

First of all, You got it all wrong. Atheist DON'T believe there is a God, so they cannot believe there is no God. Faith is not involved in Atheism, rather it's a lack of faith.

"God" never spoke to us in person and never said: "Behold, I Exist." So that's probably why atheist don't give a flying *** about God.

The universe exists, is vast and complex, that doesn't mean there is a God. To say that God exists just because the universe exists is the same as to say the God Neptune exists just because the ocean exists or that the God Eole exists just because the wind exists.

See how stupid that is ?

The only reason that I don't believe in God is because I have never seen anything that would make me believe there is such a person or thing.
I keep asking for a tiny shread of evidence ( forget proof ), so far nothing, zilch, nada, nichts.
You say the universe is too complex, therefore some kind of "God" had to make it. Great, now tell us just how he was able to make it. Explain where he got the materials, how he ( or it ) transported them. Come on, give us a few answers, explainations. Please don't say he said, "Hokus-pokus dominokus" and there it was.

The universe is far too complex to have been the result of intelligent design. You have the argument backwards.

Besides, there'd have to be a god if god created the universe, and as I'm sure you noticed, there isn't one.

Simple really.
The universe was created by the so called "big bang". This has been proved my many scientist etc...
Where did God come from? If there was supposedly nothing to begin with where could he have come from.
If theres a God why do some many terrible things happen across the world?
If theres a God why does he/she cause so much suffering?

(this could carry on for a long time)

I prefer to stick to facts.

Well, lets run with your theory for a second...

The universer is so complex, it requires a creator (according to you, correct?) So, it seems that your logic dictates that the more complex something is, it must require a creator. Planes, TVs, watches - all require man to create - and man is more complex than his creations.... Following logic, this means that man's creator is even more complex than man himself.... So, God is EXTREMELY complex, right?

So, who created God? Because you admit that complex things require creation, so whats the answer????

Here is another thing to consider: Do you beleive in Thor? Baal? Mithras? Jupiter? Neptune? Athena? Ra? Osiris? No, you do not. So, you are atheistic towards all other gods other than your own. Ive simply refused to beleive in yet another god - yours. And, when you understand why you dont beleive in those gods, you will understand why I dont beleive in yours.

But you've answered your own question. We as humans put a label on everything so as to understand it in our terms. Even if there is an intelligence behind it, who is to say that this "intelligence" is a being? Why not a force, or many beings?

It makes us feel better to have a name.

Atheists think there is no God because they can find no empirical evidence for God's existence, and they see a great deal which suggests that God doesn't exist.

The problem is that for this particular question, they restrict acceptable evidence to the evidence of the senses as analyzed by the intellect. But in every existentially vital aspect of human life, we base our knowledge on other faculties besides sense and reason alone. Sense and reason can't explain beauty, or conscience, or love: they can only reduce them to meaninglessness, i.e., they can offer no coherent account of them whatsoever. The atheist is usually completely content with this failure, and asserts as a bald fact that beauty, conscience, and love are epiphenomena of material processes. On what basis? On the basis of an a priori assumption that only material processes exist. Circular reasoning at its finest!

If God created the universe, he would by definition have to be more complex than the universe. Who created God?

2006-12-23 05:12:08 · answer #9 · answered by Incoherent Fool 3 · 3 1

They dont by words, deeds and actions. It's completely the opposite. Mankind was created with an innate belief of the existance of God who gave life to them.

This they can never get away from, no matter how much they within themselves try to disbelieve. They are at war with themselves, and their innate nature.

So they have to do everything they can to remove anything from society, that would say other wise. They believe, the old out of siight, out of mind is the best way to go.

But, in reality, its there, everytime they look into a mirror.

i do, but it isn't true of all atheists.
if the universe is so complex that there has to be an intelligence behind it, then isn't the intelligence so complex that there has to be another intelligence behind the first intelligence?
