The best over the counter medicine is an antinflamatory like ibuprofen or aspiren, acetametaphin does nothing for inflamation. In Canda you can ask the pharmacist for aspirin with codeine, it's an 8 mg. But it will tide you over until you see a doctor. If your in the states just buy advil or Robaxacin, but make sure it's the kind with asprin in it not acetametphin. If the pain runs down your buttocks into your legs it's definately a disc. So look up Mckenzie exercises on the web, try Mayo Clinic web site and do the recommended exercises, the best is to lay on your stomach with your head on your elbows, like when you were a kid watching TV it will help relieve the pressure on the disc. If it's spasms get the Robaxacin it will help the spasms. Good luck

If you have low back pain, freeze your back with ice and then do bent knee sit-ups. The best place to do these sit-ups is in bed.

These exercises are used to control or improve low back pain. They should be done 3 - 5 times a day to provide maximum benefit. These exercises are best done on a firm surface such as a floor or firm bed. If any of these exercises aggravate your condition, they should be stopped for that session.

Low Back Program ... Please look at the link below! Had the ice therapy in hospital for my back 30 years ago and still need to keep up the exercise, but have no back pain.

That depends on what kind f back pain like if you have water retention on your back then u would need a mixed one that has a pain killer as well something to help take down the swelling which is usually water but some it could be the muscle and there r meds that help calm the muscles as well have the pain killer in it to so my recommendation would be to ask the pharmacist which one is for you and describe id it's in the muscles or not cuz it makes a difference in which meds to get.If your not worried about the combination meds then tylenol is to be really good for the back pain and they sell tylenol 1 at the drugstore.Well I hope u feel better and have a great x-mas.

Forget the medicine, its only a short term solution. Try learning some core center exercises to strengthen the back and stomach muscles. It will pay big dividends and will tackle your long term back troubles. Otherwise ask your physician and get second opinions just to be sure.

Peace,
