This is a very deeply thought provoking question and as a Buddhist one which I would like to answer if I may.

Please forgive me if I offend by answering, it is not my intent.

If I was to pray, I'd consider His compasion for His people as it so obvious and compelling, so I'd offer a compassionate plee which may go something like......

Please could You give me........... the opportunity to help You?

Peace to all in the season of joy............from a Buddhist

As long as we are asking for something from outside, we are insisting to ourself a) we don't already have it & b) we can't do it ourself.

Is it necessary for us to be forever dependent & needy in order to keep the deity appeased? Woudn't any loving father feel that he had done a better job if the kid learned to stand on their own & think for themself ? I think we do God & ourselves a disservice by insisting that the relationship be based on inadequacy, weakness and fear.

Any prayer that originates from a position of strength (love) is worthwhile, because the act of prayer recognizes and reinforces that strength which already exists within us.

Peace to all,

;-)

You can pray for one than one thing!! God can answer all of your prayers. But i think if we were only allowed to pray for one thing so he could give it to us is world peace! haha
