I really don't think they care if you are claustraphobic or not. If you commit the crime you do the time, a persons phobias are completely an afterthought and probably would be ignored anyway.

Why? Because once you become convicted of a crime that entails jail you have just given up your rights.

Unfair.......it is unfair when innocent people are hurt by the "claustrophobic prisoner." Maybe there mental torment will help them become law abiding citizens when they get there second chance out in the world.

Unfair!!!!
They shouldn't have commited the 'effin crime in the first place if they are phobic about a little chokey!
If claustrophobic, I'd personally put them in a smaller cell to try and convince them that crime is wrong!
."..unfair, additional mental torment!" It's do-gooders like you, that enable the criminals come out and re-offend.

They don't get special consideration. They get thrown in the same cells as everyone else. There's no "claustrophobia wing" of any prison I've ever heard of. And if it came with bigger and private rooms, I think every inmate in a prison would suddenly become claustrophobic. That's why they don't get any special treatment.

How do they go to jail..kicking and screaming I would suppose. Hope they don't get solitary confinement. But I'm sure Bubba his new cell mate could find something to take his mind off of the claustrophobia.

I'm sure they didn't think of "FAIR" when they committed the crime.
I would put them in a smaller box than normal. If criminals are treated better than the average person, then there's nothing to scare them from not committing the crime.

In the back of a 'polis van'. Maybe an open prison would suffice , get it?..... hee! hee!... Mental torment? , you're having a laugh

A crime is a crime, and they will just have to deal with it, if they are sooo claustraphobic, then that alone should be a deterrant.

same as other criminals. If they knew they were claustrophobic, they shouldn't have landed their butts in prison. They know that the cells aren't roomy. That's their fault. They couldn't have though it would be like the Marriot.
