the same goes for the 'religion' of evolutionary 'science'.
as there is no known scientific way to test the theory of evolution, it is amazing the number of times it is referred to as fact in books, newspapers, and the video media.
to believe in evolution blindly is as much a travesty of thinking, as is to blindly follow a religion.
Any time a child is indoctrinated, and then in adulthood, does not test the core of his beliefs, he or she has succumbed to the unproven(to them) ,and biased foundation with which they comport themselves til their death. And so the continuity of false beliefs is carried from generation to generation.

I agree with you that religion stinks. But don't you think that the common denominators reveal the existence of something that is universally true to humanity? Like, there really is a God, and that most people who are caught up in religion basically recognize their essential, desperate need for Him?
Jesus Christ has perfectly revealed the Father (the true God). The Holy Bible tells of all that He has done. You can choose to reject the truth that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and the Savior of the world, but that leads to eternal damnation. I don't suggest that you do that. Religion has done much to obscure the truth concerning Him (Christmas is a good example of this), but you can find the truth if you really want it and are determined to find it. And this is worth mentioning as well, that truth is not just whatever you decide that it is. Truth is experiential, not just theoretical (or theological). The true God can be known and tangibly experienced, and reveals Himself by His Spirit through prayer. He requires that you encounter Him through His chosen method, by believing upon His Son Jesus Christ, and accepting His death on the cross as the eternal payment for your sins.
God bless.

Religion runs a distant second to the power of brainwashing of popular culture.
A proper exposure to God and religion can help to counteract the real brainwashing that popular culture is constantly throwing at all of us in books, movies, TV, songs, advertisements, and even video games.
Popular culture is constantly bombarding us with intensive, not-so-forcible indoctrination, aimed at setting up worldly convictions and attitudes.
Popular culture comes at us from all directions including books, movies, TV, songs, advertisements, video games and even the Internet.
A few of the these immoral values include:
- Lust and Sex (outside of marriage)
- A disrespect for God and religion
- A disrespect for lawful authority
- A disrespect for our human dignity
- Envy, greed and consumerism
- Anger and Violence
- Drugs including smoking and alcohol
- Vanity, outside is more important than inside
- Prejudice and hate
I think that if we expose our children to all this immorality without the moral anchor of God and religion "until they can come to a conclusion of their own" then we would be unwise, irresponsible, and frequently too late.
With love in Christ.

brainwashing an interesting term you used. do you not know that the best way to beat your enemy is to cause confusion and division?!! this is what the evil one, the father of all lies does. he wants you to believe there is no heaven or hell. but feel me out on this if you don't believ in god and fear him what is stoppping from doing all types of crimnal activity. please dont tell me the government or man made laws because they are men just like you and me. so why should we listen to them. we could do anything we want afterall i dont have to answer to noone right? why should i care about your rights i would only want what's best for me so if i had to rob, kill, rape, pilage, and burn i'm going to do it because why should i fear another man. besides when we die we'll just be asleep forever right?!!! if this idea seems right to you then your the one who has been brainwashed. the truth is we are all going to be held accountable for our actions and not by some flesh and blood being who holds nothing over me but the creator of everything is who judges all. so kep believing that brainwashed theory because your the one who as been brainwashed.

Some do fall for the whole ticket, yes. Some don't (we call them "open minded" though they seem quite rare here). I really don't see it as any different from party politics. People think their religion/party has a corner on the truth, salvation or enlightenment market. Some, anyway. And those are the dangerous ones.

If, my religions does not even allow me to judge myself, how then can I judge you. Will you attempt to reason with me? I almost always change the way people think.
We dwell on the fact that it is our hope that we don't just cease to be when we die. Everyone has this same hope, and it basically can't be denied. BUT, if I don't judge myself, neither can I judge other, but only serve God. Thus, my life should become filled with moral truths and good works.

Childhood indoctrination. We're pre-programmed to accept whatever our parents and elders tell us without question. It's difficult to break that trend, just like it's difficult to break the trend of any habit that spreads from parent to child.

How about the brainwashing done by the religion of modern liberalism? How about convincing us that murdering children is ok?

please don't generalize the population of christianity.
i actually thought about it for a while, and i LIKE the lifestyle of a christian. i get to make friends at church, there are some good life lessons involved, and i get to help people on missions. (which makes me happy).
the whole heaven/hell thing, if such places exist, is a bonus. nothing more.

Your concept of brainwashing is another persons personal choice!
Broaden your perspective, be tolerant that everyone does not share your world view.
