Interesting question. I live in Ukraine and always thought theirs was depressing- it starts out "Ukraine hasn't died yet..." and sounds like they're just gasping to stay alive but death could come momentarily. A few years ago, during the 'Orange Revolution' we heard it a lot and saw lots of flags displayed (not usual for here)- It was the first time I liked the national anthem- it made me cry. I don't know too many, but I do love this one (as well as my own, the Star Spangled Banner). I vote for this one because it really does express the heart and soul of ethnic Ukrns and was written by their most beloved poet, Taras Shevchenko.

The French National anthem "The Marseillaise" is very stirring. The Soviets used "The Internationale" very moving. There present one is kind of muddy sounding. The German one is a great piece of music. Did you know that the German Anthem used to be called Deutchland Uber Alles (Germany Above All). Although they have the same music, this title, and similar lyrics are outlawed.
Happy Holidays.

That is a very hard question to answer.
It depends on what is your nationality. Every patriotric citizen will think his or her natoional anthem to be the best. But unbiasely speaking, I should say France's, Brittain's and China's National Anthems are the best in my opinion, as far as music and spirit are concern, but as far as the content of the lyric, I think Indonesian National Anthem called Indonesia Raya, written by Wage Rudolf Supratman, is one of the most beautful patriotric poem that I have ever known, followed by Star Spangled Banner.

Ours ... the U.S. ... but you have to understand the inspiration for the lyrics Francis Scott Key wrote!
You obviously don't get what Deli Ozy wrote ... there is a point to that joke.

The US national anthem I am a US citizen. I hear everyday at 1650, (4 50 pm) the US anthem and the Italian anthem. Since I have heard them at the same time for years the Italian anthem is a part of my everyday life now. Now I am going to google to listen to all the national anthems I can find. Thank you, Happy Holidays. Auguri.

The best in my opinion is the United States. It is the only national anthem that I have heard that can be sung differently in lyrics, music, and song. It is also sung in another language, Spanish. And the different ethics who sing it....jazzy or gospel-like by Afro-Americans, country or rock by Anglo-Saxons Americans, latin beat by Latinos. etc. How can any one nation in the world beat that!
