Different gyms have different rules. The gyms I've been to seem to have a minimum age for coming by yourself, and another lower age for going the the gym with supervision from a parent. Check out the rules at your gym. They might be posted in the gym. If not, someone at the front desk should be able to help you. :)

Most gyms in the UK require you to be atl east 16. This is for insurance purposes but the age you start resistance training should be based on physiological age rather than chronological age There are tests that can be done (normally by a sports scientist) such as the Tannaer scale. Current guidlines used in sport in the UK come from the long term athlete development model and recommend 12-14yo.

It depends on the gym. Ask them how old their requirements state. You can always get someone older than 18 to go with you, to act as a gaurdian. They can also be the ones who pay or give their credit card information, etc. Otherwise, I doubt there would be any reason to keep you from going to the gym.

Where I am its 16. But they have started to do a junior Gym session for younsters. This of course will vary from gym to gym, they all have their own rules and regulations. You'd be better off enquiring at the gym you wish to use.
