depends what kind of chocolate and how much, since it's a small dog I'd be worried. however check this site first, if you think it ate enough to be serious call the vet or emergency vet if your vet is not in.

Actually, it depends on how big the dog is. I once had a small chihuahua. My little sister fed it a pack of M&M's once when I left to the store. Three days later, the poor thing died. I had no idea she had fed it that until my mom finally confessed it to me. But anyways... my other dog... this HUGE monster, he eats lil' bits of chocolate all the time and nothin happens. He actually loves M&M's... So maybe you shoulda posted that bit of info. first.

If the dog ate in big quantity, then see a vet, otherwise a little bit is okay but that doesn't mean that you let him have it every now and then. Dogs should not be eating sweets.
I hope no dog is listening to that... lol

well, take it to the vet. the vet can give it something to make your dog throw up the chocolate before it is fully digested. Keep your chocolate out of your dog's reach from now on, your dog needs it.

Do you know how much it ate?? Keep a close eye on him. If he starts to act funny, take him to te vet ASAP. They will pump his stomache or induce him to barf.
Make sure to keep the candy out of his reach next time. Good luck, I hope everything works out.
AFTER ADDITIONAL INFO: She will probably be okay. Just watch for diareah and strange behavior.

don't worry about it, mine eats chocolate rarely. i don't feed it chocolate! but sometimes if like a small piece of M&M falls, my dog can take it & eat it, but no nothing will happen, ofcourse alot is bad for a dog, but a once or twice its really ok

Depends on how much he/she ate. Chances are it will be ok, but contact your local vet on call today and make sure.

Excessive sugar, in any form, is hazardous to cats and dogs. They easily get infested with worms, that can take over their insides.
