I take my 7 month old Springer Spaniel to Doggy Daycare a few times a week. He is so tired when he gets home he snores! I'm not sure if those are available where you live. Also you can try taking him to doggy school - even if he has already gone. Dog parks, PetCo/PetSmart, you need to mentally release energy also. Not just physical. OR if you have a fence - get a playmate!

The best thing to tire out a dog or puppy, is to give him lots of attention and play with him. Go to the park and play Frisbee, or run with him around your neighborhood. My dogs loves for me to walk him it's his favorite thing!

Put him on a leash and have him run a block or so while you ride a bicycle. Be careful not to go more than a block or so the first time; give him plenty of water after.

Well if you want your dog to get tired (but not you) you could play with him with a laser pointer. Most dogs try to catch it for hours. He'll end up with his tongue out while you just move your wrist.
Hope this helps

Take it for long walks. You should also play with it until it gets tired.

run, walk, fetch a frisbee, tennis ball, and play sports with him!
He will love it and be tired and it helps you stay in shape!
