I asked this guy why he was staring at me and he just shrugged.Was that mean?

it puts him on the spot. If he likes you, it probably embarrassed him because it sounds like you're judging him as doing something wrong. If you don't like someone, don't look at them. If you do like them, you could tease (when you're ALONE) and ask "so why you staring? do I look that bad?" that way you're giving him the benefit of the doubt, letting him off the hook. He can answer "no, you're pretty" or whatever. Staring at people we like is natural, not rude. We only think it's rude when we don't like the person. And in that case, just ignore it, don't embarrass the poor soul (unless it's an old perv).

No - not mean at all. Staring is rude and if he's going to stare, then there is no reason not to ask why! Good for you!

lol, my daughters told me that theres this boy at school that stares at her in every class she has with him..I told her to stare back at him, it would make him feel uncomfortable he will probley stop.
Well she found out that he likes her..Maybe this guy likes you too

i think it means that he found something intersted on you especially if he was staring no only glance from his eyes ..i think that but in general maybe he likes you

I dont think it was mean. I just think he thinks you are a very beautiful person and was surprised to have you sitting in his company. I kind of think it was right cute. LOL

umm, don't ask them that...it puts pressure on them and then they will feel uncomfortable even showing an interest in you because they may think you'll question them on everything. he prolly thought you were cute, but now he's prolly scared now cuz u were acting all paranoid and stuff.
