Usually higher IQ thresholds can contemplate philosophy, ethics, poetry, theology, etc...and discover Truth.
Lower IQ thresholds must deal in the present, concrete forms of knowledge through practical experience only. ie. Yes, the rock will hurt when thrown upon your head...
I do not buy that you must suffer to have wisdom, some can grasp the concept without injury.

I believe it actually happened to illustrate the metaphor.
Just like the first Passover happened to illustrate the metaphor of safety in sacrificial blood of The Lamb.
Just like the Temple veil being torn in two from the TOP down when Jesus was crucified is a metaphor of the sacrifice of Jesus is all we now need to access God.
I love finding metaphors in the Bible, but yes, I believe they all actually happened to illustrate something. Jesus kept it up when He would describe the Kingdom of Heaven. He didn't say, "It's this and that..." . He said, "It's like this...".
That seems to be a favorite way of God's to share knowledge.
By the way, 139.

It's not a matter of IQ but rather a matter of learned logical processes. When one discovers the real values of Genesis, they stop caring about the fact that A&E weren't literal people.

I don't think it's an IQ issue. As a card-carrying Mensan, I can say, some very smart people believe some very crazy stuff. (Two words folks, "tinfoil hats".)
The suggestion that faith somehow implies stupidity is inflamatory and obscures the real issues.

At what ever IQ it takes for you to believe that you know more than God, or to become conceited enough to believe in your own intelligence. I am given to understand that that may not be very high.

So, are you sort of saying that the bible isn't literally true in every word and punctuation point. You are going to burn in Hell for that you Heretic you.
