I'm in a long distance relationship, and recently I was fed up with him not telling me his true feelings about me so we stopped talking. Last night he told me that he has not fully recouperated from his past marriage, and has been thinking about all the horrible things his ex-wife did to him (while he did so much for her). He says he is not wanting to pursue anything with anyone because he feels he will hurt the other person (which happens to be me now). He says I should look at other options.
Well my question is what does he mean? And how do I make him trust me that I wouldn't do what his ex did? I really like the guy and would hate to lose him. PLEASE HELP!

first off you need to let him know that you love this man with all your heart and that hurting would be the last thing you would ever do to him and just talk to him bout how you feel you never know it could help?

He most likely means exactly what he said. He's not over the pain that his ex-wife caused him and doesn't think that it's fair to you that he has that baggage.
Trust is built up over time. There's no magic solution to this problem. If you are willing to wait indefinately with no real guarantee that he'll ever get over it, then let him know that. If you don't think that you could handle waiting indefinately with no real guarantee that he'll get over it, then he's right, you need to move on and pursue other options. Who knows... maybe years from now you'll meet up again and it will all work out. Now's just not the right time.

I think he means he wants to see other people. What I would do is tell him how you feel about him and then ask him why he thinks you would do the same thing his ex did to him. Make sure that you know he is listening and give him and explanation as to why you would never do anything like that. Hope this helps!

THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO IS KEEP TALKING TO HIM AND ASSURING HIM IT WON'T HAPEN WITH YOU,TRY SENDING HIM LOVE QUOTES AND LOVE POEMS,IF YOU LOVE HIM THAT MUCH KEEP TRYING AND DON'T GIVE UP,HE WILL OPEN HIS HEART UP ONE DAY WHEN HE REALIZES THERE IS SOMEONE WHO REALLY CARES.
