That's because some horned guy turned into a snake and made some people who used leaves to cover themselves eat an apple that was a no-no. God came along, got really pissed, and then had his bouncers throw them out into the universe. After the bouncers threw them out, God met with the other heads of the 5 families and they all decided to put ebola viruses and other negative things in retaliation.

Ebola is lighter than DEATH. Probably you did not have enough "intelligence" to come up with a better and more powerful question than that!!! :-) don't mind i am joking. When you dig deep in the concept of God, you will find too many amazing things that you will never be able to comprehend with your "human" mind. Why? because, as humans we got all the limitations and weaknesses that God desired while creating us, hence we can't always encompass the purpose of everything around us that bothers or surprises us.

The finite actualities of the natural world have their own proper, inviolable self-determination. This is as true for the quantum indeterminacy of fundamental particles as it is for the evolution of viruses and the exercise of human conscience -- each is simply a qualitatively different manifestation of self-determination.
The real theological question is whether God "permits" such occurrences as the evolution of Ebola viruses, or whether God's "omnipotence" should not be construed as the power to determine the course of all events in the natural world. Most contemporary theologians lean towards the latter option. In existential terms, I would say that revelation in Christ of God's power is not the power of an omnidetermining despot. The "omnipotence" of God's power revealed in Christ is the omnipotence of a love which will suffer anything for the sake of its beloved, and which will ultimately be victorious, but which cannot prevent evil, as it were, by magic.

So that it could go extinct like everything else he allegedly designed. Intelligent design ignores the fact that the earth is an environment that is hostile and not conducive to the survival of species which is why 99% of them have died out.
