PIlots are permitted to carry weapons in the cockpit in the U.S. They have to go through training and be licensed to do so. Thoughts?

Ok before we waste anymore time i would just give me the best answer right now and save the effort...
Let us remember that most of these pilots have flown at supersonic speeds with nuclear warheads as passengers in their prior lives. They also flew those planes with sidearms. The issue of whether a weapon can be taken away is always an issue, but why are skymarshalls allowed to carry them onboard??? If a flight is in a situation where a pilot has to decide to pull a weapon out and use it, the flight is in danger whether he pulls a gun or not. Heck,,,, there's some FLIGHT ATTENDANTS I would arm:P:P:P
I WIN!!!!!!!!

I am all for it. Pilots with firearms loaded with bullets that won't penetrate the skin of the aircraft are a very strong deterrent to would be terrorists trying to weaponize an entire aircraft.

I am also in favor of a double door system for the cockpit that would make unauthorized entry enormously difficult, and give the cockpit crew ample warning of unauthorized entry so they could draw their weapons in time to repel any attack.

I am also in favor of concealed carry permits for ordinary citizens (but not on aircraft for obvious reasons) because WE are now on the front lines, and WE should be able and prepared to confront terrorist scum whenever they try to strike.

Half of all US Households have a firearm - only a tiny fraction of a percent of law abiding gun owners "go postal" and actually use a gun in a crime. There are millions and millions of us honest citizens walking about, and we have a right to effective means of self defense. The idea that guns are responsible for all crime is a modern popularized myth. If you invest the time to get the facts, you will be shocked and outraged - as I was - at how you have been totally had and deceived by the anti-firearm mass media.

If the airlines would retrofit their plans with a bulletproof blast chamber between the cockpit and cabin weapons wouldn't be necessary. Hijackers couldn't take the cockpit so they couldn't take control of the plane. With a properly trained crew they'd still get to the ground where the authorities could step in.

I think its a good thing. By time a pilot would actually have to pull his weapon, things would have gotten pretty dire. The gun could be the difference between life and death for over 100 people. Plus it will make any terrorist think twice knowing that pilot could have a weapon.

All for it. I mean it's only fair that they get some kind of weapon when you know that if someone is going to take over the aircraft they're going to have weapons.

Evens up the score.

unfortunately, pilots who pack is a reality that has been forced due to religious zealots, and freaks who can't maintain civil order so they have to comandeer airplanes with ######### on board. Pilots should absolutely be allow to pack heat.
