I got a reindeer trap last xmas but it was too late to try out on Santa's crew. This year I'm waiting patiently.....with bait. I hope they hurry....I'm hungry.

Deer should only be cooked in the summer. Cooking deer in the winter isnt a good idea. Too stringy. Remove antlers first by pulling really hard. You will know when the antlers are removed by the muffled "PoP" sound. Do not eat antlers. These can be used as crutches when you get old and shrink down to half the size you are now. Shave deer before cooking. Avoid certain men in red coats and beards while doing this. Put deer in large pot and cook on high heat for 2 hours. Remove deer and add a little salt and pepper and a little tincel for decoration.
TIP: eat only when kids are asleep and discard unwanted red nose. Unless you want free lighting.

I've had reindeer sausages, in fact I still have some from the last order. To me they don't taste any different from any other sausage, other than having better flavor. I can't taste the gaminess in them. They're really good, you can use them in place of brats or anywhere it calls for sausage.

I wouldn't want to know ... I can't imagine myself eating reindeer. Specially this time of year! Did you ever stop to think what Santa's views would be on this subject?

keep in mind that chernoble nuclear melt -down caused the contamination of thousands of reindeer mainly in finland.....any deer meat , which is wild ,will taste on the sweet side ..some hunters mix 1/2 pork with deer to counter-act the over settling sweetness...

Deer or venison. Dark and strong flavor. I like it best in stew.
