Yes - so frustrating - from the mexican's protesting in the streets waving mexican flags demanding US rights - arrgh...what a bunch of sponges. I have taken the time to make stickers that say "WELCOME TO AMERICA WE SPEAK ENGLISH HERE" and I put them places where they have either signs in spanish or machines that have instructions in spanish. I use a lot lately...it seems - quit catering to a people who refuse to integrate into society - I mean we had foreigners this past week who because they didnt know english didnt hear the warning on the radio not to put your charcoal grill in the house during a power outage and guess what they died......as a result... Kinda of ironic as I know they sell the grills with instructions in three different languages - so the irony is in the laziness and stupidity of people who refuse to become part of this country.

Yes. And what's just as irritating is going into the store, such as Wal-Mart and hearing announcements in Spanish. Then you pick up something and half the writing on the package is in Spanish. Enough Already!!!!!!

somewhat, but you have to remember that many services who have the press one service can be used in mexico, canada, and america {like phone cards}

but it angers me when I call my local Best Buy and it has the press 1 service

when i visited my uncle in California, he lives in a majority-latino area, Spanish is one, English is 2

that pissed me off

YES! It does! Why should I have to press one? I'm not in a foreign country! But I don't think we'll be moving to two any time soon, but it's a load of PC crap gone way too far!!

My answer is a simple one - "Any business that uses automated answering services are not customer friendly & personally I wish they would all go out of business & go away. All recorded customer service questions are annoying.
However your question is an old often repeated one here on Yahoo Answers. Please use the query function first before asking boring, non-original questions thank you."

Yes - overseas in some asian countries they tell you to press one for English but they say it in their own language so your... waiting, waiting,.. until you guess hey maybe if I press one? ... Hmm...

You shouldn't have to press one for English in your own English speaking country and also especially when your calling your embassy for help overseas you have to go through pressing one for English then you get redirected to a staff member who only remotely knows how to speak English.

It does irk me, but at least that's a choice. The other day I called SBC phone repair and they repeated EVERY sentence in Spanish. Once in English, then in Spanish; once in English, then in Spanish; once in English, then in Spanish. I thought I'd go mad!
