He is probably not that hungry and is trying to bury it. My dog used to do the same thing.

Sometimes dogs like to play and that includes there food and water beding and so forth. Many of my dog's wouldn't even stay in the nice dog house I had. Some would burrow underneath and even had several that liked laying on top. Animals can be quite fun to watch whether its a dog or cat or Deer or turkey.

I have a great dane mix how a bull maiff and he does the same thing not sure why he doesnt. We have a water bowl we fill it up and if we dont watch him he dumos it everywhere but are dog is only 4 mons old still a puppy his teeth hurt and he trys to eat it, Your dog a puppy??

he may want a larger dog bowl. Because i worked with dogs. Sometimes they would rather eat out of the tyco food storage container instead. Try a bigger bowl or different feeding time.

I've had dogs do that, I think they don't want to eat it all right at the moment, and their trying to cover it up, it just looks like their pushing it! Just my thoughts!~~

Maybe he likes to eat off the floor. dump his food on the floor and see what he does

Maybe he doesn't like that dog food.....or if it's empty..(my dog does this) ,,,,he's still hungry and wants more!
