Check water, food, etc. If its all ok, then it is
simply talking to you. What is it saying.who knows?
The meow sound is reserved for humans. they do not communicate with each other in the same manner.
Our cat is talking all the time as well.If it gets to be too annoying, we give it some cat nip-- a favorite toy-- or cuddle with it.
As long as its not a long drawn out mmmmeeeeoooooowwwww Which often means-- I am in Paine by the way, then it is vet time.

My best friends cat does this, I have no idea why. I went to her house and woke up with the cat meowing at me on my chest. I thinks it's like her way to make her purring louder, just meow back at him, this ussually confuses my cat enough to make my cat be quiet.

Does he go outside? mazbe he wants out. Is he hungry? Or maybe he just wants some love. Those are the reasons my cat meows.

my cat drives me crazy! all she does is meow. but one night i heard her scratching the floor so i woke up. i saw her and i thought maybe she wants 2 scratch something so i bought her a scratching matt and now its fine. (but check if your cats litter box is in a place were your cat can get to it at night)

You have a "Talker" I had a big tomcat that did the same thing for two hours almost everyday. I just talked back to him and gave him some extra attention. It didn't really quiet him down much, bet he seemed to enjoy the attention...........
