nope...just one....but every person needs just one. However...woman looking to have children dont usually donate because it is better to have both to deal with the stress of pregnancy


slightly off topic...BUT......the liver can be donated too.....a portion can be...the the liver re-generates. grows back to size for the donor...and the person who recieves the portion...that grows full-size too.

No, you only need one, that's why you hear about a lot people donating kidneys.

No - it is not that uncommon for people to only have one functioning kidney - and not even realise it - until something goes wrong with it.

No you do not need both your kidneys to survive... My brother in law only has one kidney... and he has a stint (sp?) in it for his one remanining kidney to function completely

No, hon, you don't. Many people donate a kidney to a family member or friend.
Two is nicer though :)
