When do you think MMA will really blow up in the states like basketball and so forth. And what do you think it needs to really blow up? I.E. the right promoter, fighters.

I still think that there is too much conflict between Promotions i.e. UFC and Pride, I think that IFL is a fantastic concept and will grow to become strong, it will encourage fans by having teams and a league and will encourage fighters with $$$£££'s

Are Pride still in trouble finacially due to their links with the Yakuza? Has Dana White taken it to far with the total shut down of UFC press apart from OFFICAL UFC interviews??
Please don't get me wrong because I think that Dana has done so much to bring MMA into the Mainstream. Look how far it has come since he took over the company. But does it come down to $$$$$$

In the UK scene, Cage Rage and Cage Warriors are not working together but it's seems to be working against each other.

Mike Bisping stripped of a Cage Rage Title because he fought for Cage Warriors.

I have been at a small event myself and the promoter is taking Cage Rage flyers off the tables and seats because that is what Cage Rage done to him at their show.

Until Promotions work together to unite the sport and to progress MMA, politics will always get in the way.

I think the MMA has already blown up in the states. There is still room to improve don't get me wrong. You have UFC all over spike TV. They are going into their 5th season of TUF. A PPV or fight night every month.

You have pride on the Fox Sports Network. MMA schools are popping up everywhere. It would be great to see all the promotions work together so we could see all the fights we would like to see to really see who is the true champs but that will never happen.

I think it is already blowing up, they said that Spike TV's UFC reality show has some of the highest ratings ever, and they are free. They are doing a great job of promoting and it should get even bigger from here. The thing about basketball, football, soccer, baseball is that it has been around forever and they have teams in evry big city, that is a lot of people to go to games and watch on TV. When you only have one event every 3 months you have to hype it up quite a bit until the event actually happens in order to make it worth watching.

It's got a big following now. All they need now is for the WWE to go out of business (which will never happen but it's nice to dream right?) and be the only MMA organization on primetime cable. I still say they should do a pay-per-view caliber UFC Ultimate Fight Night at the same time RAW comes on and let the fans decide how puts out the better product!

MMA , especially UFC is blowing up in the US as we speak. Did you not see the article on 60minutes about UFC? They said that more young to middle aged men watched the last pay-per-veiw for UFC than watched the last super bowl! If that isn't blowing up then I don't know what is !!!! They interviewed Dana White and he said he purchased the UFC for $2million and now it's probably worth more than $500 million. I am confident to say that UFC and MMA have arrived and been greeted with open arms in the USA!

It will never blow up as much as one of the major sports (i.e. basketball, baseball) It has already started to get much more exposure with the UFC taking over the SpikeTV network.

while people are scared of violent acts done in the name of sport, there is no way that it will be any bigger than the semi underground thing it is. fact of life: the weak majority make most of the rules.
