With no offense at all, and with no disrepect to your beliefs, the 9 is a myth. I do suggest this however. GET a copy of "Cats" and watch it through. It's an entertaining piece, but has a moral, a message, and I get emotional each time I watch the last minutes of it. I promise You'll "Get It"
As an animal lover, and long time keeper, now with 4 natural "enemies" as pets, I have to say, in a metaphorical sense that NO they NEVER truly "DIE" but certainly cessation of LIFE will happen.
BTW, the 9 myth was generated by the fact that a cat is as agile and acrobatic as any creature can be. I do suggest however that NO ONE EVER test their internal "gyroscopes" by dropping them from a tall building.
Love em while ya got em. Let them Love ya back. Believe that every END is just another Beginning.

Well, I belive some cats do have nine lives, but that is just me. I think wise, and special cats do have nine lives, but when they lose those nine lives, their lives are over. But, then again, regular housecats usually don't have nine lives, I had a cat once, that I think had nine lives,
She got run over by a car, and lived, then she fell facefirst off of the roof of the house, and lived, and then had her neck caught in the hole in my desk, and about five other things that led up to eight things, and on the ninth thing that ahppened to her, she died. Weird, I know, I guess she had nine lives.

Yes....9 lives is just an saying. Cats are very agile and seem to be able to do things that would harm the rest of us. People think they take their lives in their paws alot.

You need to take a better look at the information you are getting. I think the myth come from a cat's ability to survive accedents. I KNOW I would love to find out my Stimpy would live forever; alas reality slaps me in the face..... Merry Christmas

the nine lives expression came about because cats always land on their feet. so, it looks like they're playing with death when they do that.
unfortunately, cats do die eventually, just like everything else in the world.
