Are you joking? I had to look beetroot up: beetroot ( ) n. Chiefly British. The edible root of the beet. I guess I am exonerated for my ignorance as the use is chiefly British. So ham is much better. We only use beetroot for making Ritalin over here in the U.S. (Ritalin is a brand name for an amphetamine like substance, in the event that is a "chiefly US" drug." Happy Wassailing.

Ham and beetroot are of different galaxies, it is difficult therefore to compare them. Beetroot and cabbage can be compared; ham and mussels marinara can be compared, but not ham and beetroot, this is a calamity.

it also turns your poo purple(need i say more)

oooh but beetroot leaves lovely red stains all over the plate and your mouth so you look like Dracula.
Ham, on the other hand, doesn't so it is not half as interesting.
Does that help?
