If you mean "Pound" it's "lb", so if you've got an 8lb turkey, it's a small one, but nonetheless it's gas mark 3 @ 25 mins per pound PLUS another 25 mins. and then poke it with a sharp implement. If blood runs, it's still not cooked; if juices run clear, it's cooked, if nothing runs, it's over-done. If the turkey runs it wasn't dead..... Happy Christmas!

The rule of thumb is about 15 minutes per pound, so an 8 pound bird will cook in about 2 hours at 325 degrees. Here is a great link to help you. Enjoy your turkey.

i highly recommend buying roasting bags for turkey made by reynolds. . it wll give you the recommended time and temp, which will be a little shorter using the bags. i brined my turkey this year for the first time, and it was juicier and tastier than ever, even though it gets pretty moist using the bags. to brine it, get a new 5 gallon pail, put about a cup of salt, maybe a little less, seasonings and cold water. put the big guy in it, let him soak overnight, in a cold place. wow...very delicious..

you can do a search on brining on the web too for more instructions, after i did it this year, and i have cooked alot of birds, i will brine all poultry from now on

It just depends when your dining, but get your turkey in the oven early and give it an hour or so and turn it over and another hour and turn it
back,I never time it, its always in cooking slowly and make sure its done,if you turn it you should have a nice golden turkey, enjoy.

20 mins a pound plus 20, cover the breast in foil or fatty bacon so it dont burn and remove for the last 20 mins. 190 centigrade. Babe dont believe all the silly answers you got they all wrong belive me an old bird babe. I been cooking for 40 odd years now, and plz dont stuff it unless you do at the neck end it wont cook inside if you do.

It's not about the time, it's about the temperature. Cook it until it reaches an enternal temp of 180 degrees F.
