How do you measure what is good and bad? You really need a benchmark and that's what rules are about. Getting past that though the alternative to hell is heaven. Would heaven not be hell for someone who didn't want friendship with God in the first place? A place where everybody loves God would be an atheists nightmare would it not? Deep down I think some atheists actually think there is a God but hate the way He does things...well some things rub me the wrong way too but I am not going to hell over it.

You can apply human logic to spiritual issues all day long and in the end it doesn't work out. They are 2 completely distinct and different realms and our logic doesn't go too far outside of our physical existence. You can deny the existence of God but it doesn't make Him any less unreal. If there is no God, then there really isn't a "logical" reason to be good either. If you deny God, then by default you deny heaven, hell, angels, etc. Ask yourself this question first, am I completely free of ever having done something wrong? If you're honest the answer is no, to answer yes makes you perfect. God and sin cannot coexist. Therefore, if you have done anything wrong, regardless of how much of a good person you are, you cannot enter heaven. Lets define a "good" person as one who only commits 1 sin a day for this example. At the end of a 75 year life span they will have commited 27,375 sins! Would you define someone that wronged you that many times as "good"? I don't know anyone that only commits 1 sin a day either. The bottom line is that heaven is a place for "forgiven" people not "good" people. I don't know anyone that is perfect. So, do we deserve hell? The question really becomes do we choose hell? God said there is only one way into heaven and it isn't open for debate. The choice is yours not God's! You don't have to believe anything I just wrote, but at the end of our days we will find out if there is or isn't a God. Can you afford to be wrong?

Faith = Heaven .....No Faith = hell ... If you have no Faith then what reward are you looking for from having no Faith ? There are 2 choices ?? Maybe in man`s opinion a "good " person doesn`t deserve hell , but man`s opinion doesn`t matter on this issue . We have become a culture of good people , we don`t even recognize our own laws , much less God`s. Man has decided to put his opinion of justice in the world . Child molesters get caught and they get "community service " for punishment ? Murders get life in prison ( sometimes ) or a reduced sentence . They get to live their lives with a free place to stay and all the comforts of home . While the person they murdered , did not get the opportunity to live !! I`m sure all of the lawbreakers consider themselves " good people ". Good people do bad things , that is fact ! Without you letting the Faith in God`s ability to deal with your problems on a personal basis , why would one expect anything less than negative things to happen to you . It continually amazes me that people who don`t believe always blame the negative things in their life on God !! When good things are happening it is the same one`s that give man credit for the the good things that are done ?? You should not worry about going to hell if you have no Faith , as there is no Heaven or hell without Faith and the belief in them both . God Bless with Understanding & Merry CHRISTMAS...........

We live and have life because a loving God gave us life. This is his world and everything around us belongs to him. You are trespassing if you are not one of his followers. Believing there is no God will not make him go away. If I were you I would do everything in my power to be 100% sure there is no God, before writing him off.

I can say after 34 years of being a believer, life is very good, and my joy is full. I look forward to living forever, who knows what God has in store for those that love him. God said in his word that you don't want to hear, that he is going to share everything with us, who knows, we may be able to visit other worlds.

Do you want to risk your life on there being no hell? Once there you won't be able to say to God," I'm sorry now God, I believe you are real now". I don't have all the answers, I don't know why there is a hell, but I believe it with all my heart.

In closing I want you to know this, God is good, and loves every one of us more than we will ever know. Don't make up your mind from what others have done, or haven't done. Read the Bible for yourself, make up your own mind. Pray that God will open your eyes to his word, and show you the truth.

There are two kinds of hell:

The primary kind of hell is one that exists for people who, upon having a life review with God, cannot accept the amount of suffering they have caused others. Consequently, when God tries to tell them how much they are loved, they refuse and choose instead to travel to a place to wallow in their inability to accept themselves. Such a place, although never more than a single step from a guardian angel's hand, is self-maintained; the tortures are all the ones they inflict upon themselves, and therefore are even harsher than usual. But this place is temporary; everyone comes back eventually.

The second, unrecorded, version of Hell is the one reserved for those wishing to become Seraphs. It is a test of their love and faith in God, and only another Seraph can lead one to that room. It is an unremarkable small room, with a single chair in it. The person rests in the chair, and what happens is that the person is then exposed to every negative, painful, aspect of suffering in existence. In essence one takes in the memories of every act of suffering ever committed (or ever to be committed), so that one becomes both the abuser and the abused. This process takes 5 minutes, partly because the brutality of the compression means that one's soul is processing horror after horror in crystal clarity at rates that are unimaginable and unproduceable anyplace else and partly because the whole point of it is that this is an experience one is supposed to get beyond. After the 5 minutes are up, and the person has been exposed to every act of suffering imagineable, then God comes into the room and asks them a question: Do you love me? The answer is given before the person enters the room (the only answer is 'yes') but the ability to say such a thing after such horror is the ultimate test of faith and love. Upon its answering (no one is allowed to enter the room if one is not thought capable of answering yes) the entity is then filled with the other half of existential knowledge: love, joy, laughter, happines, whatnot and instantly becomes a Seraph. They are then allowed the freedom to travel through any mode of existence as they please, doing as they will.

...Opinions are like noses; everybody's got one. Then all you are asking for is for each of us to share our ignorance, and nothing from any kind of authority? Or is it just the Bible which disturbs you?
...What do you have to fear from the Bible? Why does it seem to bother you? Our opinions carry no weight. The road to Hell is paved with good intentions and incorrect beliefs. What God's word says is authoritatve, and if it is correct, you and I are in big trouble without Him and His salvation in Jesus Christ.
...Are you really interested in the truth? I think not.

What is wrong with the Bible? How would we know the answer to that question about hell if we can't use the Bible. That is where we learn about hell and who goes there. Why would you want to hear me, I don't speak for God - The Bible does.

free indeed isn't entirely accurate when he says our salvation is in God's hands completely. God has enabled all of us to know Him and get to heaven, so it is now in our hands to follow Him.

You assume that good deeds are what get you into heaven, this isn't true. Heaven is perfect, there is nothing evil there. How can it remain perfect if God allows someone who has sin enter it? God is holy, and so He can't associate with sin, which makes us imperfect. God only buys pure gold, and if you take all of the gold in the world, completely purified it, then added a drop of any other metal, it wouldn't be pure. If you have one sin, you aren't pure, and God can't allow you into heaven, bc holiness can't associate with unholiness.

The only way into heaven is to remove your sin, and the only way to do that is to follow Christ. If you follow Him, He'll take your sin on Himself, so that you become pure, and can enter heaven.

Also, when you ask us to answer without the Bible, I think you may be appealing to our emotions, and emotions can't be involved in justice, and the question you ask is a matter of justice. The answer may be hard to take, but it is the truth.

Hell is a Christian concept from the Bible. So the question is flawed. The afterlife is the correct term for continuous life of the spirit. It draws itself to the sphere (7) in which it has fitted itself through self knowledge of spirituality (not religion) to occupy. With all their knowledge in tact, they are ready to progress in spirituality as more opens to them from their sphere of existence.

Get the faith back. God is more concerned with your faith in him; being good is great, but the man wants your love first and foremost.
