Everytime i wear my contact lens, sooner or later it's dried up and my eyes irritate. Any suggestion?

p.s/ Dont ask me to wear glasses. I hate it.

Most answers have been covered here. Your options are:
1) Switch to another type of lens- I find acuvue oasys to be the most moisturising lenses around at the moment. If you have astigmatism, try acuvue advance astigmatism, or proclear toric. For a daily option, acuvue daily moist are ok.
2) Use rewetting drops, as and when your eyes feel dry- 'Blink' drops are good.
3) Make an effort to blink more regularly, and more completely (make sure you fully close your eye each time)
4) Make sure your lenses are clean- rub them in solution when you take them out, or change to a peroxide solution.

Your best bet is to go and see your optician, who will look at your eyes and may be able to see exactly why your eyes are dry- you may have tear deficiency/blepharitis/corneal erosions, etc.

Good luck..

I am a contact lens wearer and I find daily lenses the best solution fo me. No cleaning and a fresh pair every day! You will find though the thinner the lens the quicker it will dry up so with my dailies I have to take them out by 9pm and if I am going out I will put them in later to last the night! Ask your optician to check your eyes and recommend something perhaps more suitable. Good luck!

Mine too!!! but its OK - If you go to Tesco or Asda you can buy drops to put in your eyes when ever they get dry, or even better I have found these really cool individual 'vials' that contain contact lenses soother, they are really easy to carry around and even easier to put in your eyes they are called 'Blinks' and they come in a pack of about 20, just take one out where ever you go. Hope this helps !!

Try the new Opti-Free RePHresh contact solution or rewetting drops. If you wear your contacts for too many hours they can also dry out. Just drop a few drops of rewetting solution in your eye & you should be good as new.

The first answer is a good one, but you must remember to blink often to lubricate your eyes. I wear contacts too and my optician said that you get out of the habit of blinking as often and therefore your eyes get dry. So consciously think about blinking more often.

I had this problem when i first started to wear contact lenses. I went back to my opticians and they recommended eye drops to keep the eye moist. Apparently i wasnt blinking enough and my eyes were going dry. Your opticians will sell the eye drops i know mine do. Hope this helps. x

I had this problem with my soft contact lenses.

Do you use 'all in one' solution? I opitician advised to change to the peroxide system with the disc at teh bottom. Ive had no problems since.

Also, Ive head that some oral medications can dry yr eyes out. ie. beta blockers, anti-depressants.
