My old PC is playing silly Bees and I'm getting a new one for Christmas. I dont want to transfer the whole image - just a few data related programs

PC relocator ultra, you just connect the computers via the usb cable that comes with it and select what you want to transfer. You can get it at Best Buy and other computer stores

Just copy the installation file for the program, or use the installation disc. If there is none, the program is likely an OEM version (cannot be transferred as it's made for a specific model of computer as chosen by the manufacturer). If you are attempting to transfer a software license (for Microsoft software), you must first uninstall the product from the old computer before you are allowed to use it on the new one. Otherwise, your product might fail the Windows Genuine validation check. Again, this cannot be done if the software is an OEM version.

Another good way is to network the two and set the old one up to let you transfer files. Then sign in with the new one and take what you want. If they are networked you can also use http://www.logmein.com and do it remotely. Hope this helps

It is already on your computer, go to system tools then file transfer wizard.

google it. there are programs that do exactly that, and many times they come pre installed on new computers

try getting installtion cd's so that you don't have any mess transferring with difficulty.
