There are a number of things it could be and any of them need to be checked out by a doctor. If you are not too uncomfortable you may want to wait until after the holidays and see your own doctor, but if you are worried about it or it becomes worse, you might want to go to a clinic or ER to get it checked. Most likely you will need antibiotics to treat an infection.

You should definately go to the Doctor. It could be a simple cold causing it, as the lymph nodes in your neck tend to trap infections but you don't want to wait and see.

It could be a problem with your thyroid. The best thing you can do is make an appointment with your doctor. Have him take a look and he should be able to run a few tests and determine what the problem is.

It might be a thyroid problem but it's best not to make assumptions, as such go to a general physician instead of an ENT surgeon soon.

It is an enlarged lymph node draining some infection or it could be an infected salivary gland.

Ya I have it too. Its going away though. Have lots of freeze pops, and popsicles. It will go away by Christmas if you do that
