Hey there,
Just got a bottle of Captain Morgan's Original Spiced Rum yesterday.
Not sure weither to buy egg nog or not.
Hubby and I have a mild "lactose intolerance" to milk, yet hubby wants to try Spiced Rum with egg nog. He also doesn't like the thought of milk and alcohol together.
I'm going to the grocery store in acouple hours or so to pick up somethings there.
Would anyone know what would go well with Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum? or Should I stick with egg nog?
If anyone knows what kind of mix I could just pick up from the grocery store, please lemme know.
Also... Should I get 2x 2 litres of egg nog if I do buy it?
As well as... a recipe I found for Spiced Rum and egg nog.......

Captain Morgan's Egg Nog:
1 oz Captain Morgan® Original spiced rum
4 oz eggnog
1 pinch nutmeg

If you happen to know a mix that would go well from just picking it up from the grocery store... please lemme know when you can. As well as a recipe if possible.

Thanx for

Rum is typically easier to drink than somehting like whiskey. I prefer mine either straight up on the rocks followed by a Shiner Bock or it mixes quiet well with Coke. Nothing fancy I know but simple and pleasing all the same. Egg nog isn't bad either but due to the richness of egg nog I wouldn't drink too many that way myself. Happy holidays.

Forget the Nog, you'll just forget what you're drinking after the second one, here's what I think is the next best thing:

Easy Rum Cake

INGREDIENTS
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1/2 cup dark rum
4 eggs
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 (3.5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix

Glaze
1/2 cup butter
1/8 cup water
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup rum
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10 inch tube or Bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts over the bottom of the pan.
Mix together the cake mix, 1/2 cup dark rum, eggs, 1/2 cup water, oil, and vanilla pudding mix. Pour batter over the nuts in the pan.
Bake for 1 hour. Cool, and invert cake on a serving plate. Prick the top of the cake.
To Make The Glaze: Melt the butter in a saucepan. Stir in 1/8 cup water and the 1/2 cup sugar. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove glaze from heat, and stir in 1/4 cup rum. Drizzle and smooth evenly over the top and sides.
