With that attitude, you may never quit. You have to believe that it is a disgusting addiction that is going to kill you if you want to really quit. The important thing is to try. You may fail over and over. I quit for six months, four years in a row, making it to July 1st every year and still started again. The fifth time was the charm. I was so sick of going through withdrawal, that I knew I would make it that time and that was 22 years ago this new years eve. My mother and step-father quit 24 years ago, but not soon enough. Both are suffering smoke related lung problems. Quit while you're young and hope that was soon enough. I'm still holding my breath on that one. You may not have a choice about becoming a born again ex-smoker once you see how hard quiting is and as you see people your age start to die from Tobaccocide.

Seriously, there is a new prescription medication called Chantix. If you are serious about quitting I Highly recommend that! I smoked for 15 yrs and it was the only thing that helped me. I tried everything, cold turkey, patches, even hypnosis, all failed.
Then a few months ago I heard about Chantix, watched my coworker quit and got inspired. I have quit for months now. My best friend and now 2 of my coworkers have quit. I'm not saying its a miracle drug, it has just been for miracle for 4 out of 5 people I know that have taken it.

I just stopped buying them.
Smoking is a social habit, you need to get to the point where you can be OK with everyone around you lighting up, and you are not smoking.
You probably started smoking because your family, or your friends do it. Be the one that is different, and be OK with that.
They will try and make you feel bad, give you the guilt trip, because they don't want to look like the only one with the bad habits.
Get over that peer pressure, and just quit.
