chemo it's self isn't painful. the side effects of it can be, everyone is different. some people end up sick all the time and some hardly get sick at all. you will be tired a lot. your immune system is going to be depleted, so you want to eat as best as you can, if you feel you can't eat, then drink a lot of juice and , or, protien drinks. it's ok to be scared, that's normal. when you get your chemo, you should be in a room with others getting chemo too. talk to them, they have things that work for them to get them through it. you aren't going to be alone.talk to the chemo nurses, they see this every day and are a wealth of helpful information. good luck, my prayers are with you.

I don't recall any pain whilst I was receiving my chemotherapy but it was very tiring for several reasons : (1) Mentally it is tiring because I was constantly thinking about my hair falling out , my nails coming off , my skin "drying" out , the nausea etc . This really took a toll on me . (2) Physically it wore me down as it weakened me , made me nausious and took away my appetite . I also had a "metallic" taste in my mouth which also made me feel ill . It is important for you to remember to stay positive and to believe in your treatment . Things must get "worse before they get better" they say . You might handle your chemo better than what I did . Your "chemo cocktail" will also determine the side effects you will experience . I know of people who hardly even knew they were having chemo . Follow your oncologists instructions and tips and you'll be ok . Best of luck and stay positive . ( 27823041641@vodamail.co.za )

There are various kinds and dosages of chemotherapy... it depends what kind you going to get. Chemotherapy makes you feel as sick as a dog, and you 'll feel you have gone to hell and back... but hang in there, it's worth the cause! Drink vitamin C to keep the immune system up. Your taste in food etc will change also, go with the flow.

As others said, it depends on the type of chemo youre getting.
Many of the side effects of chemo have treatments these days, such as nausea and vomitting. There are also medication that boost the immune system.

Well, it depends. My aunt's having chemo and so far, it isn't so bad, just really tiring.
The most important thing is your state of mind, I guess. My aunt's faith and fighting spirit is really strong so she's able to stay positive and cope better.
Don't worry 'bout it, I'm sure you'll (or whoever you're talking about) will be fine. I know you're a huge Zidane fan- like me!- so think of him!
