The 5.2 is a fun one, Don't remove the belt before loosening the fan, The clutch will come off with the fan in one piece. To get them out together loosen the Shroud on the front of your radiator. I've never removed the clutch while changing the water pump. And I just use a gigantic crescent wrench on the nut between the fan and the pump. The pulley should come pressed on the new pump I don't think you have to remove it to remove the pump. Oh and buy a screw type hose clamp for the little hose on top the pump. You'll never get the original back on. If you have small hands like me you won't have to remove the upper accessory bracket to remove that hose. Good luck!!!

a clutch fan, has the bolts that hold it on, behind the big metal disk. That is the big disk that usually has a round coiled up spring in the center..Remove those 4 or 5 nuts, carefully slide it forward, and fan and clutch ought to come off, if radater is not in the way.
HOW EVER, If you find that the fan is electric, instead of mechanical, the water pump may be gotten at with out taking all of that stuff off.
It may be better if a trusted mechanic does this.
The hassle and problemscan really piss you off if you have never done this.

The way the pulley is attached to the water pump has no bearing on getting off the fan and clutch. Do not remove the fan belt, put the wrench on the nut and hit it with a deadblow hammer and it will spin off. After you get the fan loose, unfasten the shroud, and unscrew it by hand very carefully and don't let it hit the radiator or it will damage it. OEM water pumps the pulley is bolted on with 4 bolts, replacements are welded to the piece and pressed on.

You could charge by the hour like shops do. The ones around here (dealers) charge a lot - $75/hr. just for labor alone. Seems like $80 would be very fair, especially if it was a tough job. You didn't mention how long it took to do it. You could call a dealer nearby and ask what they would charge, so if the owner gets upset at what you charge, you could tell them how much it would have been at the dealer. You provided a service that the owner wouldn't or couldn't do, so don't sell yourself short, especially for a really good job!

Scott D has a good answer, don't loosen the belt or tighten it back up.
