I feel that every day is important. Christmas Day is important, but so is every day of the year. I'm not going out of my way to make a stance against celebrating Xmas, but this year I've just been so busy as to not get around to making plans. I beleive that the meaning of Jesus can be applied to all situations every day at any time. Jesus wasn't born on Dec. 25 and the date of his birth is relatively insignificant to me. However, I hope that you all have great days anyway. It's a nice thing to spend time with family and friends. Please enjoy your holidays.

So, basically half of you are understanding, and the other half have "issues" with this.

I don't understand why some of you actually bring yourself so low as to suggest that writing the word "Xmas" is somehow un-Christian. Sorry, but I write it both ways, and for brevity "Xmas" works fine. If you can't see that an X is a cross, then you must be blind.

And I never said I was leaving God and Jesus out of the equation. I just said that I've been too busy to plan anything "special." I'm saying that every day is important, not just one day. Go take your self-righteousness elsewhere. I'm tired of people like you who will damn people at every conceivable chance, as you are somehow perfect in your celebrations of Xmas, as if you are somehow a better person, and that I am somehow lowly for not having the opportunity to visit family this year. You don't ever think Jesus spent any special occasions away from family?

I think you've got the right idea. Now I don't need to feel so guilty for not having a celebration here. I'm just not in the mood for it this year, it seems like such a farce. A good day to you.

Firstly you are right and wrong. I will explain both.

You are right in the fact that everyday is special. December 25th is not Jesus birth day (actually it could have been, however the day was pretty much picked out of a hat).

Now as for you being wrong. You are saying you are too busy, you should not ever be too busy for God. As for making plans; why do you need to? Will your family and friends get upset with you if you just show up? See the truth is Christmas shouldn't be for gifts or (this might surprise you) even Jesus birth day. This is a holiday that is meant to be shared with family and friends. With this in mind Christmas doesn't even have to be celebrated on Dec. 25. My family always celebrates it on the 24th-28th (different day different place (mother in laws, our house, a friends, and my parents). However this does not mean whenever you have a free moment; this means around Christmas time. The reason I say that is even though I said it isn't really about Jesus's birth it actually is. See by being with family and friends during this time of year you are celebrating his birth which ever date that it actually falls on.

I know what it's like to be busy. I am constantly busy; however I do whatever I have to; to spend time with those that I love.

I hope I didn't offend you; I am just always saddened when I hear stories like yours. And I know there is probably nothing you can do about it (i.e. work and such), but I always hope for the best.

relax-yet the world can be reached this one day-Jesus day is every day-thank God they look to him at least one day-I am born a Jew and never was alowed to celebrate His B day wether when the shepherds brought sheep all year long to Jerusalem and that God could have been born on any day even a pagan holiday-and the trees are to signify Jesus evergreen-not the past pagan ideas as the bible says they used it wrongly for.
relax enjoy the day-i give out christmas tracts -and people are most open now too-except for my Jewish people-its Yom Kippur and showing them Jesus is the Messiah promised.
thanks alot

I find it hard to believe that a true Christian would refer to Christmas as Xmas, just to start. I agree with you that every day is an important one that we should pray. Christmas is just another day that had a good respectable beginning, but has turned into a monster. We as parents have let the true meaning of Christmas get away from our children.

I think if you can celebrate everyday like its special and not just Christmas... then that makes you a true Christian. Merry Christmas, and God Bless!

I am not Christian, but I do not find anything wrong with you not celebrating. If you are strong with your faith then you celebrate Jesus in your life. Christmas has become about Santa Claus anyhow so I find that you are being stronger than most.

Jesus was acctually born sometime in April.
The 25th of December is a roman festival.
But we probably wouldn't recieve gifts if The Christmas story wasn't like real cause of the three wisemen.

I think that all Christians are obliged to spend the Christmas season complaining about how our culture has lost sight of the true meaning of Christmas. If you haven't complained about that yet, you're not living up to your duties as a Christian.

Awesome. If you love Jesus then rock on! Christmas is whatever you want it to be. Traditionally and non traditionally. We do it up because we want to. That's all there is to it.

May the LORD richly bless you and Merry Christmas.
