It's all depend on how the person practice his/her believe of the religion. If the person believe that violence is the way to show that he/she is a follower of religion, maybe this kind a person is not a islamic person but a lost person who just claim himsel/herself as a muslim. Maybe they should formed a religion that called themself Malsi instead of Islam Coz they're just some crazy bastard who called themself peaceful people but like killings for a living.

I dont think there really is a religion of peace. I think if there was no preference of what religion people should belong to then we would all be closer to peace. Each religion has fought with another on what they each see as right or wrong. Its stupid, and pointless. You dont need to belong to a religion to acheive peace or anything for that matter.

I think all religion fundamentally is based on doing good for others. People are the problem, when religion is misread and used to further their own ulterior motives is when we all have to start worrying.

Yes, in the beginning. But now it is tainted with human ideology and is being use to control the people. It is a way of life, not politics.

I personally believe it is diguised as peaceful. Does Islam teach to love all others above one's self, to suffer yourself to be wronged by another- or to give up your life for a friend? I do not know alot about Islam, but what I do know is that it was birthed many years AFTER Judaism/Christianity. I think personally its actual origin is in the biblical account of Abraham& Sarah.
The Lord spoke to Abraham and told him he would have a son; he and Sarah (Who at the time of the promise was 100 yrs. old). Time passed by and they did not conceive. It was not yet the LORD's time, so Sarah dealt irrationaly by having her handmaid (Hagar) go in and sleep with Abraham "to give him a son."
So, this brought about the birth of Ishmael (from Abe and Hagar's union). Time went by and finally Sarah conceived Isaac. The promise was still fulfilled bc' GOD is not a flippant god who "takes back" His promises. This of course--put Sarah at odds with Hagar and led to her ordering Hagar and Ishmael thrown out. (Imagine the actual situation played out in your own family...the women would nearly kill eachother in the ongoing battle of "Who's baby does Abe love more?")
Either way.....READ IT FOR YOURSELF...beginning in Genesis ch. 15.
Here is the part I want you to see concerning what I believe tobe the then upcoming birth of Islam (of course-foretold many many many yrs in advance):
"And the angel of the Lord found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way of Shur. And he said, "Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence camest thou? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.
And the angel of the Lord said unto her, "Return to thy mistress and submit thyself under her hands............(angel still speaking sez.."I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shalt not be numbered for multitude"..........skip on over to Ch. 17 and read for yourself...this is too long. This branch of the covenant with Abram is where the promise went wrong and what I believe to be the geneology of the birth of Islam. Ishmael is the original forefather of that blood line.....you'll have to read it for yourself to understand.
It is all over the bible how the Isaac(Jews) will always be at odds with the Ishmael(Islam)....thus the whole mid East never ending conflict....
