As soon as the kids can actually get me to stop pretending I am asleep, we open gifts.

Then, after the house is full of wadded up balls of wrapping paper, we have breakfast.

I do make them work to wake me up, though. Last year, they actually got a hold of the horns I take to soccer games, and blew them in my bedroom. You can only take so much of that before you admit you are awake!

We have two little girls and the way we have always done Christmas morning is to let them open their 'stockings' (of lots of little wrapped presents) first thing and then motivate them to get themselves up, dressed, washed, breakfast and teeth cleaned etc etc before opening their main presents.

Two things are amazing about this; firstly how little sleep they seem to need, both still awake really late and bouncing like tigger at 5am and also, how quickly they can get themselves up and ready when MORE presents are waiting to be attacked!

It's great fun............Christmas is great, but children make it fantastic!

Happy Christmas Everyone!

We open our gifts on Christmas Eve, it's a family tradition, where all the family, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. are there.. Then at each home with smaller children, the "Santa" presents arrive during the night and the children open them as soon as they get up :)

Morning. Early. Okay, the kids like to sleep in most days, so it's not terribly early. Just like 7:30 when they wake up and realize what day it is.

I do make them wait till I've started the coffee.... After everything's open, we have breakfast...

This year, we're going to the motel to swim Christmas Eve. And sleep there. Will make them go and do the continental breakfast with me before we go home to see what's there.

I open them the minute i waken up,i`m still a big kid at heart!!
I`m always the first up in my house then i need to waken my 4 year old son and my partner to get my prezzies,he doesn`t leave them out at night as he knows i`ll come down in the middle of the night and rip them open,so the minute i`m up so is everyone else!!

I always open mine as soon as I get up. I'm a little kid at heart!! I don't think I'd have the patience to wait until after dinner. Just looking at them now makes me want to open them!

First off at my Brother's house, and that is the way we did it when our parents were still alive.
Still sharing my personal message until the BIG day:
A Merrily barking mad, wickedly happy Christmas to everyone who celebrates!
