ive heard one who reads alot of different books has better comunication skills. I've recently started to read again and i see a difference.

If you are anything like I am, you are not gifted this way. I found that taking a speech class and "several" writing courses for different types of writing was very helpful. I have to be careful as it is easy for me to lapse back into old ways. Most community colleges offer some great courses in these areas. Best of luck!

Find a mentor or a coach to work with you one on one. Let the coach know your goals and have that individual give you feedback (both postive and constructive) to help you continually improve. You could even find a "practice partner" and coach each other is cost is an issue.

Depending on your level of literacy, here it is, 5 most effective ways:

a.) books, whether from children's story books to great classics.
b.) tv, not only you'd get used to it as you watch more and more of them, you'll get patterns for communications, and you'd feel better, inspired and confident
c.) dictionary, and lotsa-lotsa questions
d.) if you're really helpless, you'd consider having a tutor
e.) practice, a helluva lot of practice

practice practice practice.! go to thrift stores such as Value Village that have a book department & check out the language section or reference section -lots of cheap books on the subject

Read a lot of books and keep talking to friends, neighbours and whoever you come into contact with, when you read, read each word and pronounce it.

practice.... well my mom wants me to read books to expand my vocab and all that... so try reading more
