My neice has just got her uk citizenship, does this allow her to work in the uk? and if so what documentation does she require. Normally when you go to an agency for a job they require British birth certificate (hers is American) and a British Passport (her is American) ??????

If she has gained citizenship, she has naturalization documents

according to British law your niece is entitled to work as she is American, - America being an Alia to the UK, she will however have to produce her birth certificate and passport, if the agencies ask for a British certificate then just get her to tell them that she is American and doesn't have British documents, if the agencies doesn't want to take her on, then just tell her forget about it and fo with another agency, its there own fault they have just missed the change to hire a really good employee. anyway she shouldn't have any problem i have many American friends who have come over to the UK to work and all they need is there passport and a letter from the American embassy saying there intitled to work.

She needs a NI number. She should take any other papers with her to prove her citizenship and she'll be fine.
