Both of my parents are small skinny people. I'm 6'0 and weigh 240lbs. When I was 14 I was 5'10 and weighed 125lbs.. How did I gain so much weight and why can't I loose it when I do exercise and eat less than most people I know? I even joined the military to help loose weight and it worked somewhat but only got down to 175lbs, with running more than 5 miles everyday. What is the trick?

First off, I must congratulate you for losing almost 70 pounds! That's quite an accomplishment!! 175 and 6'0 sounds ideal. Remember that muscle weighs more than fat, so a lot of your weight could be muscle mass.

Simply put, if you take in less calories than your body needs, you'll lose weight. But I know that sometimes it doesn't seem that simple. I have the same frustration with my weight. I watch what I eat and exercise daily, but I only seemed to lose 6 pounds in 3 months! At least you showed promising improvement!

You seem like a physically fit person, and honestly, being in good shape is a lot better than being skinny. You're healthy inside and out, and you don't want to do anything drastic to disrupt that just so you can lose weight.

the general reason one doesn't losse wieght is because their intake ecxeeds output, if you still haven't lost weight after both eating less, eationg healthy , and excerssing then you are either not doing one right or not doing it at all. it is a scientific proven fact that if your out put excedds input you lose weight. you also have to realize in order to lose weight you have to change your life drastically, you have to be something wrong

Go to a doctor and get checked out. Also maybe you are mostly muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat.
