I have the same problem. What you have to do is keep yourself busy with something non-food related. For example, I play the piano or play with my dog. If you need to go to sleep, read an engaging book or think of something that's not food-related. I know this all sounds like easier-said-than-done, but I'm struggling too, so if you want to leave me emails when you get the urge to eat, you can.

You should never go to bed hungry. When your body is telling you it is hungry and you don't feed it, it holds on to the fat it already has to feed itself, thereby defeating what you are trying to do (lose weight). Eat something lite and small. Maybe a fat free yogurt or a small apple, a few crackers or tortilla chips, celery, etc.

eat something healthy like corn chips they are low in fat and healthy.by the way try certain organic products since they are sometimes more nutritous and have no artificial things in them. DO NOT GO ANAREXIC you will get even fatter. also try sleep aids and things to stop urges

well as smone has already said de best thing to do is alleviate pain by drinking water not too much though just some so that the hunger goes away n u know u don't feel like having nething else!! GOODLUCK!!

pick up a peice of fruit, or a veggie snack on them. It's the late night sweets that you have to worry about.

drink a glass of water!
it will temporarily alleviate the hunger so that you can get back to sleep.
somebody above wrote to exercise - don't do it before you go to bed! Exercise energizes you - it makes it much much harder to go to sleep after exercising!

just don't think about food and when you fall asleep your stomach wont wake you up (depends on how you sleep).

warm ilk or warm tea..supresses the stomach but does not wake regenerate you
