Double check this as I'm no expert..but I think I remember seeing that the actual CD changer was trunk mounted on the driver side. I think it was on the fender wall just behind the tire. I think this was the position right into the early 2000's. ( I have a 2002 se and was looking at buying the changer to install myself as my car was lacking it). Its been 2 years or so since I investigated this, so I may be wrong. The radio itself will list the CD as an option, even if the changer is missing from the installation. If you buy the appropriate changer it will work.

Stock radios sometimes say CD even if there is no CD changer. My guess is that this is the case for your car.

The CD changer in those is part of the stereo. All 6 discs go in through the stereo.

i own one and there is not a cd changer...i know there is a plug system from the back that would allow for installation either as factory option or after market. my wife uses her walkman cd player with cassette adapter that can be purchased almost anywhere for playin cd's while cruisin. hope i helped....happy holidays!!
