There is this question from the April 2003 issue of Reader's Digest page 110 and I wanna know what your answer is:

You have a two-seater car and you are driving in the middle of a storm. On the side of the road...you see:

1)An old woman who's about to die
2)A friend who once saved your life
3)The man or woman of your dreams

remember:The car is a two-seater and you can't see the man/woman of your dreams ever again if not now

Go ahead try it!!!

The best answer given to this was, "Give your friend your car keys, so that he may drive the old woman to shelter, and spend the time with the beautiful girl waiting for a bus to take you to shelter."

The first two would take priority. The so-called "man of my dreams" might look nice but be a total idiot, so that would be a superficial choice. What I would end up doing is take the elder into my car, call a taxi for my friend and give them the umbrella I always keep in the trunk, explaining the situation that there was an elderly person about to die and I was going to take them to the hospital ---all of my friends understand that elders come first in my culture and have respected that before.

Apparently you've never heard of sitting in someones lap before.
Also, the car does have a hood and trunk, doesn't it? Why can't some one ride there?
This is like the stupid question about the tree falling in the forest when no one is around (would it make any sound?)
Of course it would. If it makes noise when there is someone around, then it will make noise if all are absent. Our being within hearing distance has no bearing on any sounds emitted as a tree falls, It doesn't make noise just for us to hear.

I gonna help the old womans who's about to die, shes the most helpless person of the three, and might not survive the storm, the two others, they seem to be healthy and able to survive the storm, and can still await other help.

i would put the old lady in the passenger seat, and invite the man of my dreams to sit on my lap while we race to the hospital, but not before grabbing the rainjacket and umbrella out of my trunk, giving it to the friend, and telling them "i'll be right back!!"

p.s Jan Stolz: were you asleep in class when they taught you about sound waves back in middle school?

The friend. He was willing to give his life for you, you should do the same. The old woman will die soon anyway and women come and go.

Although Beau R has the perfect solution....I would say the old woman who is about to die....I couldn't leave a sick person behind.
