Any validity to claims that dice can be thrown in any other fashion than random? Considering the surface of a craps table and the casino's requirement that both dice must be bounced off the
rail it would appear as just another goofy "system."

tough to do but easy to spot if you know what you are looking for. a shooter will quickly set his dice. if you are looking you will notice 2 things. 1) he is doing something to the dice while the are on the table in about one second. 2) he sure ain't shaking those dice in his hand because they a set specifically. except on a come out roll the dice are set with a seven on the outside and the inside. the shooter is standing next to the stickman. when he throws the dice they are at eye level and land very near the back wall and bounce back a short distance. pay attention because most of the time if they roll back at all it is only on one axis of the dice. remember the two sevens on the outside axis. most of the time these are eliminated. the lighter you hold the dice when you throw them the less the will spin. to prove my point chart a shooter that does this...if he is having a bad night he won't be at the table very long but otherwise he will probably be winning big. eliminate one seven per 36 rolls and you have an even game with the casino. eliminate 2 per 36 and you've got a huge advantage. and you know what; the casino knows it and they won't care because a hot table causes idiots to make stupid bets like the hard eight and any seven etc.

random, that's it. Casinos are very careful about those dice. They don't want to get scammed and loose money, and if they get caught trying to manage the odds it's their license so they loose even worse.
