Dogs are like people. What one does might be totally different than another one does. A person might be a hero or a coward. You just don't know till that situation takes place.

In general dogs are pack animals and will protect their own. The owner should be the Alpha Leader of the pack. But I wouldn't count much on having your butt covered by a dog.

For instance I've seen hunting dog get between bear and hunters while other dog with tucked it's tail between it's legs and ran. Both of these dogs were owned by the same person. Both loved and treated the same. So who's to say if a dog will protect you...

that is not any longer the canines that's the proprietors. I even have seen varied aggressive Labradors with the aid of fact the proprietors think of the breed is suited and that they do no longer would desire to coach them......... and don't say Labs can't do injury with the aid of fact I even have seen what Labs can do first hand. Banning a breed in no way works the authorities banned Pit Bulls and the scum that used Pit Bulls as a fashion accessory and a weapon have moved to distinctive breeds i.e American Bulldogs, English Bull Terriers and Staffordshire Bull Terriers. So in the event that they banned those breeds then the scum who abuse canines and use them as a weapon will purely flow to a distinctive breed and additionally you in no way understand.... then the "almighty" "relatives" Labrador may be the subsequent risky and harsh canines breed. contained in the articles I even have been analyzing it says the canines develop into an SBT variety no longer a Staffie maximum assaults defined as SBT variety canines are in many situations a bypass breed or a thoroughly distinctive breed all collectively. I wager the human beings there does not understand what a real Stafford appears like whether one walked as much as them with a huge sign announcing SBT. i'm hoping Maleeka makes an entire restoration yet I blame the proprietors and could continually blame the proprietors. regardless of breed ALL canines are probably risky. The media is purely focusing on the Bull Terrier and Bull Breed varieties of canines with the aid of fact they opt to sell memories and don't care approximately information and the fact. Staffordshire Bull Terriers are not regularly occurring as "The Nanny canines" for no reason and that they are certainly one of in basic terms 2 breeds counseled by the Kennel membership suited with infants. i'm going to additionally provide you a clue the different breed isn't a Labrador. purely in case you opt to play the "the wear and tear a canines would reason is right down to reproduce" card. It has already been examined and shown that the flexibility and the biting injury a canines would reason is right down to length no longer breed. Labradors are bigger than genuine Staffies.... so which you do the mathematics!

Dogs only defend their owners if the leadership is misplaced which is a dangerous situation as dogs can mis-interpet situations, a dog should not lash out or be agressive under any circumstances unless they are forced to do so to protect themselves (when they have no other choice such as running away).

Some dogs can be trained in protection training, if you wish to partake make sure you find a training school that is based on 'drive training' not 'fear based training'.

Certain breeds of dogs are terrirorial and have guarding instincts.

Ignore those who make the reference to Pitt Bulls. Temperment is part learned and part genetic. Some Pitt Bulls have been trained to fight dogs, this is very different from protection training.

He might, and he might not. Each dog is different. Just because it is a Bt means nothing.I have yet to see one tha is willing to do REAL PROTECTION. Do not listen to people that tell you that their dogs will "naturally" protect them and all that happy stuff. A dog, any dog, needs to be evaluated for its protection drives, and if he has them he needs to be trained PROPERLY in order to do realistic prtection. Also, some people will tell you that you should not rely on a dog to save your life. TOTAL CRAP. If you have the right dog, and he has had the right training, you can most certaintly depend on him. Some people here have never been bitten by a real dog that was intent on finishing the job. I can tell you from personal experience training dogs on a daily basis, and wearing a bite suit every day, that the pain is so intense, even in a suit, that you cannot deal with it for long. Have your dog evaluated by a qualified trainer and the take it from there.

They are wonderfujlly protective. Please start training as soon as possible. They are usually a one man dog, but they do love children, and they will be very protective of them. Just remember, when training use the same word and be totally consistant. when training don't always use food. It's is best to start with then taper off. And of course, you can use praise and then pack it up with treats. Good luck

do you know that you have the cousin to a pitt-bull? Of course it is going to attack if it or you feel threatened but as a protective measure when you have you dog out please put a muzzle on it to protect other innocent people from being bitten and to keep you from being sued. good luck and god bless and happy holidays.

All dogs require training. Stafordshires are no different, but they are alot like pit bulls in appearance and temperment, so get a professional trainer and take the course with your dog.
