The aim of your course is to make you self-reliant. Asking questions hoping to get ready-made answers negates this basis and prime objective. Don't fall into this "easy-way-out" trap.

This largely depends on the type of engineering the company performs. The choice here is widespread client base consisting of private and public sectors or serving a niche market. The niche market is dependent on too many items specific for that market- for example, if the engineers are working for car manufacturers- they may be in troulbe because the car companies are not spending a lot of money externally to the company or they may be really busy because the car companies need help to develop hydrogen based vehicles. I'm not familiar with market niche but if you are, it could be really easy to do an analysis.

The engineering company I work for serves a broad based client list. It seems the following issues affect our business. We are in the South of the USA and manufacturers are moving into this area- so we get many land development projects as industrial complexes are developed- companie smove here for competetive electrical and water prices- labor is cheaper here moreso than other parts of the country however, if this is the driving factor, they would move to asia or some other place with even lower labor costs. As the people move here (sociology- demographic issues), we get much work from municiplaities to expand their water and sewer system capacity. As new laws are passed we get additional work to bring clients in to compliance- but this sometimes has a reverse effect as this stops clients from expanding or taking on additional projects.

That is just the tip of the iceberg but hopegully enough to give you some thoughts to run with.

good luck

I could answer this if I had a day to spare. Seems a rather complex question to put to a forum such as this. It would be far better if you did your own research and came up with your own real answer. Then when you pass your exams you will be a really capable person in business. Once your prop is taken away though you will fail.
Happy Christmas.
