I let my 8 year old watch t.v 13 movies. Most of television is pg13 except for cartoons.
Rated R , I have a 13 yr. old and I let him watch R rated movies as long as I am watching it with him .
My 13 yr.old plays them and my 8 yr.old has played a few with myself or husband chaperoning the game.
At least 16 and I have to meet them and know where they are going and has to be home when I tell them and one mistake like being late then they lost dating privileges.
I have told my 13 and 8 yr.old about drugs already. They are never to young to know about the ill effects of drugs.
12
12 but the mail has to be monitored and I tell them that and explain how dangerous giving out their email address is.

1. How old will you let your child see a PG-13?
I plan on watching movies before my kids see them until they're 13 or 14. Some movies are rated pg-13 for obscure and stupid reasons...
2. How about an R?
depends on the movie and the reason it's rated R. For the typical one, 15 or 16.
3.Play a T rated game?
see above answers...
4. Play an M rated game?
see #3
5. Let them date?
well...they can go out with groups of friends by 13 or 14, but not real dates until 16 or so.
6. Tell them about Drugs?
ASAP!!
7. Tell them about sex?
When they start asking, I'll give them honest, age apropriate answers.
8. Give them an email address?
middle school, but I'll be sure to keep a close eye on it.

1. At any age I feel particular movie is okay for them to see, after viewing it first. 2. Same answer as number one. When I feel they can handle it. 3. Again depends on why game has that rating and so forth. 4. Same as number three. 5. One on One dates will not happen until around 16, going somewhere that I will be with them a little earlier maybe, but I would be present the whole time. 6. As soon as possible and any time they ask. 7. I will tell them as they start to ask questions, just enough to satisfy their question. I will explain more full when puberty starts, so they are not put in a situation they can not handle or don't understand. 8. When I feel they can handle one, but probably not before 14 or 15, if then. 9. Never. I hate that show, and it does not get watched in this house. 10. Same as 8, but I will have parent controls to moniter, and I do not believe they will have computers in their own rooms. To many preverts are on the net. 11. Again depends on childs maturity and the kind of pet they want. I am their mother, and will do what I feel is best for them. I will not follow what others say I should when they do not know my family or my children. I am the mom, and only I know what is best for them in the long run.

Of course all of these depend on kid too.
1. Maybe 11 or 12. Younger if I'd seen movie first and knew what to expect or avoid.
2. 13, and see #1
3. Am real restrictive on games. We have one that is fighter jets and is T. Is fine except they cuss in it (stupid thing to add). We just keep sound down.
4. None. Don't want them in the house. As bad as some T are, the M's have to be terrible to get rated that.
5. 16 and level of maturity considered.
6. From birth??
7. From birth. Needs to always be a normal part of life. Even when they were little I would point out things about men/women that is related to sex/ morals. For instance, if my 7 yr old turned his head to look at a scantily clad woman (and yes, they do even that young) I might mention how she's pretty to look at, but ladies wear pretty things that are proper too. Not prude, just morals. Depends on situation.
8. As soon as they can use one I'd guess. My one son had one at 12, the 8 yr old doesn't yet. Lots and repeated instruction given on not giving out info and not opening junk mail and specifically what junk is. To never click on ads and things that look like games.

1-4 It depends on the child. Some children can handle different things. I watched scarry movies and violent movies at an extremely young age and I dont have a violent bone in my body. Kids are smarter than we give them credit for. They are not going to kill teenager babysitters because they saw Michael Meyers do it. But they may be up all night with nightmares. With my son I ease him into things lightly. I watch it first myself (usually on basic cable where the worst parts are cut out) and if I think he may be ready to try it I let him watch it.(I love dvr) and if he is fine with it then I consider that when making my decision about the next movie. My husband tests games. My son is 11 and plays most teen games because it's just bloody during war scenes. I wont let him play anything with adult material though. Middle school kids start exploring that way too early as it is.
5. I think that when my son is in 7th or probobly 8th grade, I'd drop him to a harmless movie during the day and pick him up, I think it's cute but serious dating doesnt usually start untill middle high school.
6. It's never too soon to tell them about drugs. If someone on the street beats you to it, it could sound great to them instead of deadly
7. They'll ask at such an early age. You tell them more and more details as they grow. There are several age appropriate books on the subject but if you feel more comfortable that they hear it from you then use those books as a guide. They usually get the scientific school training on sex ed in 5th grade which is weird to me because I did not have that until 7th grade. You want them to hear your views on protection, love, maturity, respect, etc before they hear the mechanical side of it.
8. My 11 year old has an email address. They encourage it in elementary school now but I stay by him when he's online so he does not stumble on something he should not see. You can also filter his yahoo to censor any adult material.

1 and 2. Depends on the child and the specific movie.
3. Depends on the game.
4. Depends on the game and I honestly don't know. I haven't really thought about it as we *me and my hubby* generally only play E or T games ourselves. We're a Nintendo and PC household.
5.Group "date" at the movies probably around 12-13 depending on my daughter and the amt of people going and the time of day. I'd be more likely to let her go with 6 other people to a 1 pm movie than with 2 to a 6 pm one. Afternoon just seems less shady lol.
6. We've already had a talk about prescription drugs and our daughter's only 18 months. I have to take daily medication so she sometimes is around for the meds. I don't really know when we're going to talk to her about rec. drugs though. Probably around 5th-6th grade for the real big talk and then continually through her life everytime it's on the news.
7. Whenever she asks.
8.When she wants one but probably with restrictions until she's 13.
