The first place to find college grants and scholarships for college is completing the FAFSA form. It becomes available January 1 for the upcoming fall semester. It will tap into federa and state level along with college need based financial aid. This is based on family income and resources. It is a source for grants and student loans. However, I will also list other free sources for locating financial aid help for college.
First, a high school guidance office has a list of local scholarships for its current students to apply for consideration.
Second, the college's financial aid office and website has a list of private scholarships offered from outside organizations and companies. Sometimes, a college major website will list scholarships, too.
Third, the public library has a scholarship list book. It lists some scholarships that can't be located on the web.
Finally, join several free membership scholarship search websites. Most offer regular updates. Most offer a customized search based on information you enter into a form on its website.
