If you believe it is a disadvantage can you show me?

[2:213] The life of this world is made to appear attractive to those who disbelieve; and they scoff at those who believe. But those who fear God shall be above them on the day of Resurrection; and Allah bestows His gifts on whomsoever He pleases without reckoning.

Allah knows the cries of the beasts in the forest, the sins of the people in seclusion, the movements of the fishes in the deep seas and the rising of the water by tempestuous winds. I stand witness that Muhammad is the choice of Allah, the conveyor of His revelation and the messenger of His mercy.

Advantages of fear of Allah

Now then, I advise you to fear Allah, Who created you for the first time; towards Him is your return, with Him lies the success of your aims, at Him terminate (all) your desires, towards Him runs your path of right and He is the aim of your fears (for seeking protection). Certainly, fear of Allah is the medicine for your hearts, sight for the blindness of your spirits, the cure for the ailments of your bodies, the rectifier of the evils of your breasts, the purifier of the pollution of your minds, the light of the darkness of your eyes, the consolation for the fear of your heart and the brightness for the gloom of your ignorance.

Therefore, make obedience to Allah the way of your life and not only your outside covering, make it your inner habit instead of only outer routine, subtle enough to enter through your ribs (up to the heart), the guide for all your affairs, the watering place for your getting down (on the Day of Judgement), the interceder for the achievement

of your aims, asylum for the day of your fear, the lamp of the interior of your graves, company for your long loneliness, and deliverance from the troubles of your abodes. Certainly, obedience to Allah is a protection against encircling calamities. expected dangers and the flames of burning fires.

Therefore, whoever entertains fear of Allah, troubles remain away from him after having been near, affairs become sweet after their bitterness, waves (of troubles) recede from him after having crowded over him, difficulties become easy for him after occurring, generosity rains fast over him after there had been famine, mercy bends over him after it had been loath, the favours (of Allah) spring forth on him after they had been dried, and blessing descends over him in showers after being scanty. So, fear Allah Who benefits you with His good advice, preaches to you through His Messenger, and obliges you with His favours. Devote yourselves to His worship, and acquit yourselves of the obligation of obeying Him.

[4:141] And He has already revealed to you in the Book that when you hear the Signs of God being denied and mocked at, sit not with those who indulge in such talk until they engage in some other talk; for in that case you would be like them. Surely Allah will assemble the hypocrite and the disbelievers in Hell, all together.

Fear of anything is a disadvantage.
Fear of God/Allah allows so called Religious leaders to have an unhealthy influence on people.
Why should somebody not be allowed to eat a certain type of meat etc. because it says it in some text of over a thousand years ago?

Can people not understand that these instructions may have been valid when they were written but are not now. Priests killed animals because they new how to do it and what could be eaten safely - not because God/Allah decreed it! Pork would go off quickly in the heat so was not safe to eat (we have fridges now).

I just despair sometimes at the idiotic things people do because of Religion!

i agree with ALI. Allah is the one who create all of you. create everything. god create things so perfect, even there still no mankind can surpassed the god. Allah also the one who give permission to anything that happen in this whole wide universe without feel any stress like you were working. even now, u are breathing is because with the permission from Allah. if theres no permission for u to breathing, then u will be dead. remember Allah. be fear of Allah and u will be feel easy. when u are thinking about doing sins, please think of Allah 1st and then u will fear to doing sin. u won't doing sins as for the sinner will be thrown to the f**king Hell. 1 day at the Hell means 1000 years at this world and i am sure that u don't want be there just for even 1 second as the fire in the Hell is black in color and i know u wouldn't want to know why it is black in color because it is damn hot.

Belief in mythical beings is "superstition", just like all the other superstitions, ie black cats crossing your path, walking under a ladder, belief in some invisible man in the sky. The human race has put so much energy into inventing their myths and waring and killing others who choose to believe in other myths that I am always amazed that we consider ourselves as civilized beings.

Stop, contemplating mythical conditioning and concentrate on how to be a better human being, concentrate on how to help the poor of this world.

This will make you a better person - NOT RELIGION!

there is no need to fear god, because he has no power or i'd be long dead for blaspheming,
he may have been some ancient alchemist who is now long since dead.
he wasnt even that great. what kind of god murders first born children destroys farmers' crops and cuts of the egyptians water supply by turning it to blood.
come on not even George Bush would do that.........and write it down in a book......i think.
anyway where do the people god smites go heaven or hell?
what if they are children?

A HUGE disadvantage is the contradiction of the need to fear god. A true god would not have the need nor desire to be feared. To fear one's parent only leads to a child that grows up with developmental problems.

Fear might make people believe and follow God or Allah, but they will not be sincere, they will just be trying to avoid punishment.

what's wrong with you?

i don't care what you believe in, but honestly why would i be so stupid to want to live in fear of something that is not even there, is that how you control your life on a daily bases? oh, i musn't kill cause hallah will be well pissed off, or whatever, instead of having a mind of your own, where you are capable of understanding and undertake situations... you're sad... serious void in your life...oh, fill it with fear, it will help you...

A balanced religious life entails love of your God (whoever you take that to be) & love for his creation.... and not just fear.

Your question is therefore misguided. Fear of your God is not a disadvantage in itself but if it exists without Love then your soul is a barren place. Is that what your God wants ?

More religious babble, aimed at converting the world to primitive and dangerous modes of thought. Get lost with your religion, mate.
