Many moons ago when I got my first speeding ticket I asked the same question. All I got was "You can't stop progress. You can make it illegal to own a car that goes fast, but the car companies will complain about their rights. People will complain about other countries 'going faster than us'. Blah, blah, blah, girl pay the damn ticket."

That was my dad. I still speed to this day. I now know where the coppers hang out and wait for us speeders. Everything is about profit. If you don't get caught some lazy law maker won't get a raise.

I do not believe that the traffic system is based on revenue. Most of the Police Departments funding to help pay pollice officers salaries and car repairs, etc.... come from tax dollars NOT tickets.

Not only the moving violations part, but the parking violations part also. It is nothing but a revenue generating gimmick for the local government.

Don't speed and you dont have to worry about your money going to the county. You have to pay for your screw ups. Its the hope that you wont want to keep spending money on tickets that you will slow down and obey the law.

Traffic systems were instituted for safety only. The monetary outcome is the punishment factor for not applying good safety measures.

always fight them. The fine can't go up and you cost the court $ to hear the case. And sometimes you win!
