A research project about the true costs vs. savings of environmentally friendly technology would be interesting. For example, can an average family of four actually save more money by driving a hybrid, using geothermal heating technology, etc, etc, etc.

A concrete example of how to save money while saving the environment would be beneficial to a lot of people.

Find out about grass roots savings societies and revolving loan funds. I know African market women use collective funds like these to help each other save money and invest in new business. I discovered while researching life in a poor neighborhood in the US that some women there did the same but didn't have time to learn more (it wasn't my main topic).

I heard that Koreans who come to America have Key Clubs, but it's spelled differently. They get ten people together, and all of them save money, and when they have enough money to start just one business, they help one guy start a business. Then they all continue to put in money, including the first guy, until they all have a business of their own. I thought that is a really outstanding idea.

There are also organizations to teach kids how to be entrepreneurs, which is a terrific idea, too.

I have often wondered if babies who are breast fed grow up to be more intelligent or success-full than those who are bottle fed. I'm not sure how you could fit it into the money saving criteria, although breast feeding has to be much cheaper than bottle feeding. Good luck.
